Intro

Hi, I’m Sally Sierra, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) based in Florida and also licensed in the state of New Mexico. I lived for several years in Puerto Rico, where I learned to speak Spanish and developed a strong understanding of the culture. I’ve been a therapist for 14 years, working with aging adults, adolescents, children, and families.

For the past 7 years, my focus has been on supporting older adults through life’s challenges by exploring their thoughts, feelings, and concerns. My experience includes working with grief, depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, ADHD/ADD, adjustment disorders, self-esteem, relationships, and family conflicts.

How would you describe your approach to care?

My approach to therapy is client-centered, helping to build a strong, trusting client-therapist relationship. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel accepted and heard—free from judgment. This foundation allows us to work together to develop psychological tools for navigating complex emotions and life situations. I use an integrative approach to therapy, blending elements from various modalities to meet each client’s unique needs. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, talk therapy, psychoeducation, art and art-based activities, bibliotherapy, and more.

What should be expected in the first session?

During our first session, we’ll get to know each other in a relaxed, supportive, and safe environment and talk about what brought you to therapy. There’s no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with. We’ll also discuss how therapy works, what to expect moving forward, and set meaningful goals to work on together. My intention is to create a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and supported—one where you can experience acceptance and openness without judgment. This foundation helps build a strong therapeutic relationship and supports your path toward growth and healing.
